To Talk Or Not To Talk? 10:43 AM

Vaness and I had a catch up session yesterday.. Ate like tonnes of FAT FAT food and spent a bomb. Stupid coffee costs about half the price of my dinner!! and my memory is like seriously failing. I thought there was Haagen Daaz at Marina Square but it was actually Anderson's, I though the nice oreo milkshake i drank last time and was craving for was at Coffee Club but it was TCC. STM!! kill me.

When our brains were clogged up with good food and going into sleep mode, we decided to analyse one of the mysteries of life (even when we are stoned, we still cant help being so intellectual..) which is....

To Talk Or Not To Talk? (below are some random findings..)

  1. When meeting new people, we keep asking the same standard questions (eg. what's your name? which faculty are you from? which school are you from? etc) that it starts to feel like an interview)
  2. Not everyone will appreciate going throught the above mentioned interview and sometimes will not reciprocate with a perfunctory "what about you?" which could either be due to: They feel dumb asking the same thing you just did... OR they are just not interested in talking to you (how dare they!!??)
  3. We sometimes really crack our brains thinking of what to say to some unresponsive walls (!) that we get so tired and pissed off that we just give up talking (the duration of this bout of silence depends on how pissed of we are and whether we meet someone else who actually respond to us)
  4. We realised sometimes even we dont feel like talking and then feel pissed off when others keep wanting to talk to us and that could be how the unresponsive walls feel (hmmm...)
  5. We dont understand how people can stand awkward silence
  6. We sometimes keep ranting just for the sake of having something to say
  7. We prefer awkward silence at a table of 4 rather than 2 so that the fault is 1/4 ours (the silence is so unbearable we start doing mental calculations..)
  8. We can actually have a conversation about people not wanting to have a conversation (the power of good old friends!)

But there's nothing wrong with silence is there? Maybe before going into an awakward silence, we should just have an agreement that we both dont feel like talking, which turns the awkward silence into a comfortable silence. perfect solution! and if the both of us cant reach that agreement then we should just go into an argument which is certainly better than an awkward silence cause we can storm off and go into zi bi where we can have our own silence.
