its kinda lag, but just caught wall-e. it is one of the best cartoon I have seen in a long time! just love the way the robots are brought to life by the pixar geniuses to tug at our heartstrings and make us sympathise and go "awwww..." just love the way they poke fun at things going on in our lives. but ironically, the cartoon doesnt seem v children friendly. I dont think kids will get or appreciate their jokes which are more subtle and clever I guess? but with the kids nowadays, they would probably see more into the movie than I ever would...
catching up with yan and vaness the past 2 days just made me miss the good old days (i am sounding ah-ma-ish alrd) even more...
type A room in PGP is seriously... WAH. that's the only word i could think of once i stepped into vaness's room (actually, once i stepped out of the lift.. even the corridor is... WAH). the nice COOL air, the LONG windows, the LARGER floor space, the PRIVATE toilet... WAH. shuang-ness. vaness, you are so going to have trouble getting yan and me out of your room. you are doomed! (:

Saying that things haven been going my way the past few days, weeks, the entire semester is like an understatement.
Screwed up tests, projects, assigments and tooooooo many random series of unfortunate events.
Feeling like crap but out of nowhere, when I was blog hopping (procrastinating again!), I saw this link on Sihui's blog to a Daughtry song, What About Now. Always thought it was a typical love theme kind of song but the video is surprisingly different from his other rock band-ish videos.
And it made me feel better. So much better that I won't even whine on my blog. Cause I whine to people until sian already... =P

Just watched 12 Lotus today. Realised hokkien songs (not those annoying beng ones..) are impossibly sad. There's just something that speaks straight into the soul. Or maybe it's just me. Have no idea why people gave it such bad reviews and comments. Perhaps I didnt watch 881 and had no basis for comparison but then again, maybe these people just dont like sad movies. (Or they are just too dumb to see the point of the movies.. Some comments are downright ridiculous.. see example below.) Yes there were weird pieces of scenes that dont seem to fit together but that's just the way the lead actress' life was.
HOW CAN HER LIFE POSSIBLY MAKE SENSE TO HER?
To cut a long sad story short, 12 Lotus is about the life of a getai singer who has a serious case of bad luck. Physically abused by her father as a child, cheated (in every possible way) by her bf/husband once her father died and AGAIN abused by some random guy in her mid-life once her bf/husband dumped her.
And all because of money.
It breaks my heart just to think about it. I wanted to reach into the show to comfort her. (It's that sad ok!)
She didnt deserve any of those crap that happened to her. Then again, most unfortunate people probably dont.

What I really hated: sudden musicals and choice of songs which do not really fit the scene.
Comments: this is really about the worst movie i've ever watched. although i understand the storyline and everything, it's a really really really boring movie which makes you learn nothing worthy in the end. i mean, when you watch movies, even cartoons like Kungfu Panda, teaches you something. even tragedy like Titanic makes you feel something after watching it. but this movie? it just put you into a tragedy mode throughout (which i think is what the director wants actually. ). tragedies do not really have to boring though. but this is downright boring. i only got excited when i saw stefanie sun's face. hahaha. boring, boring, boring. why pay money to become immersed in sadness (with no values taught)? you can get it for free in life. haha."
